Using the Tidal filter optimizer is awesome. I dont have to worry about fish fry getting tucked in by the protein skimmer and it just looks good. Only thing is I wish on the 35-55 optimizer was just a couple inches lower.

The Seachem Tidal HOB are my go to option. I have then running on the majority of my tanks as either the primary or back up filter. I am converting all of them to use the optimizer. It really makes it easy to service and clean the pre filter on the optimizer. I have planted tanks so the debris can be heavy. Now I can grab it before it makes it to the filter. I also like that it t removes the skimmer as these will get clogged by my floating plants. This is a home run.

I love the tidal filter optimizer. They work great on the 75 and 110. I use it on all my tidal filters and recommend them to all who use it. The only thing I would like to see changed would be on the optimizer for the 35 and 55. If you could extend the shift for the filter a couple more inches to reach lower on tanks would be great. Other than that its an awesome product.

Love this filter, I have it in my fry tank so I've had to do wacky things to it like sticking sponges in the inside to protect the fry. This solution is SO MUCH better. I've had it running for about 2 weeks so far no issues, the flow seems to be about the same. I haven't tested the auto priming function like before where it would just restart on its own so im not sure there. It also fits perfectly on a 90B.

This thing is amazing! I was already in love with the Tidal 75 once I got it up and going, and then I added the Tidal Optimizer using the video (shoutout to Zenzo!) and it blew my mind… it was easy, and it became exactly what I wanted! My panda garras will actually rest on the prefilter sponge and dine. No worries about my baby Longfin plecos getting stuck. I’m even considering adding some shrimp in this tank now. But I can still have that high flow up top. Perfect!

What a great idea. Love how this fixed the noise problem with my Tidal 75. The pre filter sponge is a bonus. My fish are very happy and appreciate you at aquarium co-op.

55 gal Mbuna tank, way overstocked, with a Fluval 207 canister also, for good measure.

As others have said, the water level tolerance for the SeaChem Tidal HOB filter is very small, and when the water level drops, the noise is awful. You can turn the little wheel to quiet it, but that is probably not too great for the motor.

When I got the optimizer and sponge (75/110 plus the large sponge) I thought it would look just awful and huge in the tank. but it actually blends in quite nicely, I tucked it behind a large plant, where the original uptake tube was. It seems like the water flow is much stronger than before, tho admittedly there was some stringy stuff from a silk plant that is falling apart wrapped around the impeller shaft, so that would have had an effect also.

It was very easy to add this to my filter; the most difficult part was taking the filter off the tank.

I was also very impressed by the look of this. If I didn't know, I would never suspect it was a 3D print. Kudos to you for engineering a solution!

Followed the instructions but it didn't fit with my motor. Customer service was great and they sent me out a new one, but it also didn't fit. Seems like it is just barely too small.

I ended up modifying it and supergluing it to the motor. Works great now.

I have a 135 gallon aquarium that is running two Seachem Tidal 110 filters. The surface skimmer was unbearably load once some algae got caught in there. These optimizers completely solved the noisy skimmer issue. The optimizers 3D print could use some improvements. The first (1/2) arrived broken in the box which they sent me a replacement for quickly. The tabs to connect the part to the pump are very tight fitting but not very strong(PLA) so I can see many customers snapping them off during installation. Overall, I think it’s a great idea. Would be even better if they made the STL file available to purchase.

Awesome Product! I have run Seachem Tidals for a few years now and have always hated the surface skimmer. It was always getting clogged and making an awful noise. The surface skimmer was also not great for fry and small shrimp. This product was easy to use, easy to install and looks great. Even more important, it quiets the filter down and eliminates all the problems with the surface skimmer

This product works great this product had a perfect fit. I also like that it's mid water instead of right on top of the substrate.

I had a couple problems sadly. Installed two on my 110 filters. First, I broke one of the tabs or wings pressing it onto the impeller motor. Since I ordered two, I used the second one and broke it as well. But decided to continue and it really doesn't seem to be overly important. I guess time will tell? When I put it into my 40B tank, the optimizer is longer than I thought and sits all the way on the gravel. Not sure if it needs to be that long, but it is. When I installed for my 75 gallon, it doesn't go all the way to the bottom, but very close. I'll have to provide updates after they've been in use for a month or two, but the filters started up immediately and both are running silent at the moment.

It was easy to install. everything is working great.

I am on the 4th optimizer, 2 of them separated where it attaches to the pump. You did send me a replacement, the most current one , I paid for. From the looks of the 3 d printing , the area that splits looks different. Did you do anything different to strengthen that area? The other one that I have on my snail tank has a leak in the same area but is still intact. I would imagine you have had other customers complaints regarding this issue. Other than the separation, your product solves the issue to bypass the surface skimmer!

Great product and well worth it for the price. I had a little concern given it was a 3D print, but everything fit perfectly. Aquarium has never looked better.

This is the perfect solution for the one issue with otherwise wonderful very quiet filter. It’s super easy to install. Good quality.

This thing is great. This is the second one I purchased because I broke the little tabs that hold the motor on the first one. I definitely was not gentle with it and over time they snapped. IF you are not like me, and can be at least a little bit careful when you put it on, it is not an issue and will be a game changer for your Tidal filter.

Works as stated looks bigger in the tank and harder to disguise than the straight tube on my tidal 75
Was wanting one for my 55 but unsure if I want something that bulky in my smaller tank

Made durable not thin like some other 3d plastic.

Had problems with Molly and Guppy fry getting sucked into the skimmer on the Tidal 55. Finally an easy way to optimize this filter, ...and I just saved 15% on my car insurance!

The Tidal is a great HOB but it has its drawbacks - looking at you skimmer! But optimizer solves all this. I love my tidal so much more now. Do yourself a favor and get this!
